Julie Berrett-Abebe is a social work educator, researcher & clinician. Her clinical background is in elder community care, hospice, and oncology social work. Most recently she worked for 10 years as an oncology social worker at Massaschusetts General Hospital, where she provided directly clinical services to patients and families as well as training and supervision to MSW students. This clinical work inspired Julie’s research interests in improving quality life for cancer survivors and developing and evaluating interprofessional education and collaborative care. Julie currently works as the training coordinator for a large HRSA grant in the Social Work Department at Westfield State University. Julie also teaches research, field, and clinical social work courses at several area universities. Julie received her PhD in Social Work from Simmons College, her MSW from Boston College School of Social Work, and her BA from the University of Notre Dame.
