Alison Newman is a part-time professor at Boston College in the Graduate School of Social Work. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Brookline, Massachusetts. Her practice focuses on academic issues, college mental health, personal and professional growth, and relationships. She enjoys working with college students as they navigate the many challenges of transitioning to college life.
Alison received her Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) from Princeton University and her Masters in Social Work from Boston College in Clinical Mental Health. Her extensive experience includes work at McLean Hospital as well as college counseling services at Wellesley College and the alcohol and drug education program at Boston College. In addition to her clinical work, Alison has pursued training in yoga for emotional health and an advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
