fall opening 2017: check-in instructions
Please Note: our office collaborates with many other parts of the university to set the schedule of events for our Fall Opening. In order to be sure that all dates of events serve the needs of all our partners, the Office of Residential Life waits until the end of the month of June to update this page with the upcoming academic year's Opening schedule.

Parking is not allowed near Welch, Williams or Roncalli Halls during move-in.
Please navigate to 200 Hammond St., Chestnut Hill, MA 02467. This address is at the top of the road that will lead you down to the College Road residence halls. Once you turn onto Hammond Street, continue down this road until you reach the residence halls. You will be directed where to stop by police stationed in the area.
The driver will leave the drop-off location and park the emptied car in either the Commonwealth Avenue or Beacon Street Garage, located on Lower Campus. All traffic will exit from Hammond Street.
- To get to the Commonwealth Avenue Garage, turn left down College Road, right onto Commonwealth Avenue, right at St. Ignatius Church, and right onto St. Thomas More Drive/Campanella Way. The garage is located on the right past the first bus stop.
- To get to the Beacon Street Garage, continue down Beacon Street and turn left just past Alumni Stadium.
The upperclassmen and transfer student move-in date is Friday, August 25. If personal circumstances make arriving on Friday impractical, returning students may apply to arrive on campus on Thursday, August 24 at the earliest. Students applying should be as detailed as possible explaining the circumstances necessitatin their early arrival. Examples of personal circumstances include travel in excess of 300 miles, parents' work schedules, etc.
Students affiliated with a BC-sponsored organization must contact their coach or advisor regarding early-arrival information. Details about the early arrival application process available here.

Late check-in can be done at the office of residential life, Maloney Hall, Suite 413 from Saturday, August 26 through Monday, August 28. On these days, the office will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
